Etihad Airways Airbus A340-600 Fleet List

Current Etihad Airways Airbus A340-600 Routes

A6-EHJ was flown from Toulouse to Finkenwerder prior to delivery and was unveiled in January 2009 in a spectacular red, white and black Formula 1 inspired livery.

In 2009 Etihad introduced suites in First Class and removed the no board lounge area from the A340-600 fleet which allowed a new configuration of 12F/32J/248Y.

The aircraft were initially used on routes from Abu Dhabi to Toronto, Sydney and London Heathrow where their extra capacity over the earlier A340-500s was most required.

On November 15th 2007 the aircraft that was to become A6-EHG was written off by Airbus when it careered through a blast wall during a pre-delivery engine and brake test. Etihad did not formally cancel the order for this aircraft until July 2009.

Etihad ordered four Airbus A340-600 aircraft for delivery in 2007 with a  further four aircraft ordered in 2007 for delivery in 2008 and 2009.

The aircraft were originally configured 12F/30J/244Y with an innovative swivel seat in First Class allowing passengers to dine face to face and lounge areas for premium passengers.
